1.Architecture
A diaphragm filter press is a high-tech separation machine that integrates mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic functions. It consists of five major components: the frame, the filtration system (filter plates, diaphragm plates, and filter cloth), the pull plate system, the hydraulic system, and the electrical control system. The frame is the main body of the machine, supporting the filtration mechanism and connecting other components. It primarily consists of a thrust plate, a pressure plate, a cylinder, and a main beam.
2.Working Principle
During operation, the piston in the cylinder pushes the pressure plate, compressing the filter plates, diaphragm plates, and filter cloth between the pressure plate and the thrust plate, ensuring pressurized slurry filtration within the filter chamber. The filtration system consists of filter plates arranged in a specific order on the main beam, filter cloth sandwiched between the plates, and diaphragm plates. The filter plates, filter cloth, and diaphragm plates are alternately arranged to form a number of filtration units, or filter chambers.
At the start of filtration, the slurry, driven by the feed pump, enters each filter chamber through the feed port on the thrust plate. The slurry is filtered by the pressure generated by the feed pump. The filter cloth forms a filter cake within the filter chamber, and the filtrate is discharged through the nozzle. Compressed air or high-pressure liquid introduced through the air inlet actuates the diaphragm, squeezing the filter cake and further reducing its moisture content.
The automatic plate pulling section consists of a reducer, a manipulator, a transmission mechanism, and a pause device. The reducer motor drives the drive chain, which in turn drives the manipulator, pulling the filter plates apart one by one. The pause device controls the plate pulling process at any time to ensure smooth unloading. The hydraulic system, equipped with a plunger pump and various control valves, drives the pressure plate to tighten or loosen the filter plates. When the filter plates are tightened, the filter press automatically maintains pressure to maintain the required working pressure.
